Another great album chalked up the Marilyn Manson's shock-rock career! This album includes his soul-baring, artsy, dark metal in all its glory. Don't let me forget to give credit where credit is due, however: without the help of his mastermind bandmates John5, Tim Skold (musical genius himself), and Madonna Wayne Gacy it would fall flat. The musical content is very good, but muchly similar to styles on their past albums. The lyrical content is worthwhile on most tracks. This album is meant to be styled in vaudeville and old Hollywood glamour, which gives it an interesting twist unlike Manson's past albums. While Mechanical Animals turned toward glam, then Holywood resurrected some of Manson's darker roots, Golden Age brings out something a little different from the band, and that difference seems to refresh the band (most people were assuming Manson had taken it so far that everything from Antichrist Superstar forward would all sound the same). "Mobscene" and "This is the New Shit" were probably the most famous tracks on the album, but don't miss out on "(S)aint", "Golden Age of Grotesque", and "Para-noir" which are my personal favorite tracks. Manson in top form, John 5's guitar work on this album is his best while with this band. Sadly he was soon dismissed, but this is a must have for any true fan. 🤘🏻

I bought this CD because my grandson says he likes it, but I think he likes it because someone older does. I'm sorry but I can't say much of anything good about it becasue to me, it is nothing but screaming and racket. I can't understand anything he is saying and I simply don't call it music. You can't even sing along with it if you wanted to. Also I don't like the profanity that you pick up part of the time. My teenager likes it though. I would not have bought it if it was just left up to me. Sorry.
