In hindsight, just about everybody (including the band) agreew that this album was rushed. The band went straight into the studio without a chance to recouperate from the grueling "Keeper of the Seven Keys" world tours, which also mean that they didn't have enough time to write the songs. So the album is slightly patchy in places, and ultimately a bit up and down, but there are still a lot of good songs on here. It certainly is not a bad album. But it is definately the least good one from Michael Kiske's time in the band. The "Keeper"-albums are the classics, and "Chameleon" is the epic, progressive gem which people either hate or love. "Pink Bubbles" is somewhat overlooked, which is not totally deserved, as the best bits from this album are really good.
