Janine started playing the Suzuki violin method at the age of 5, taught by her French grandfather who was schooled from the age of 5 in the Conservatory of Music, in Northern France. Janine's family moved to Los Angeles from Philadelphia at the age of 7 where she started piano lessons. At the age of 11 she got a taste of the music world when she recorded her first album in a professional recording studio with the Los Angeles Children's Chorus. LACC performed around L.A at different venues like the Pantages theater in Los Angeles in front of a packed audience that included among others, Mayor Tom Bradley. Janine wrote her first published poem at the age of 6. She started writing prose, then poems, and later songs. She started recording demos on a 4-track on 1997. Her first published, commercial success was the inclusion of her song 'NoMo' on a compliation CD of local Venice, California artists. She recorded her first solo EP in 2001. She recorded her first full length album in 2008. She has gigged around LA and in Italy to promote her EP with several different lineups. She has had her music played on television shows in Europe and on Los Angeles radio. Janine currently plays bass in a trio called Twig and the Berries and is finishing mixes on a full length album.
