An excellent opportunity to see KISS golden era, in this dvd you can see 14 vintage live in-concert songs from 1975 to 1992, almost all of them with makeup, except one song "Love Gun" from a 1992 concert, besides 1 footage of a 1976 rehearsal without makeup of the song "Rock´n´Roll Over" and 2 excerpts of studio recordings tracks for the KISS tribute album, one of them the song "She", in this video besides ANTHRAX the performed band you can see also Gene and Paul who was the producers of this track and the song "Christine Sixteen" performed by GIN BLOSSOMS, I was prefered that they put the funny video of "Detroit Rock City" by THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES that they recorded for the same tribute album. Almost all the songs were performed by the original KISS line-up; "Starchild" Paul Stanley vocals and guitar, "Demon" Gene Simmons vocals and bass guitar, "Spaceman" Ace Fhreley lead guitar and vocals and "Catman" Peter Criss drums and vocals; among them 2 sung by Ace Fhreley "NY Groove" (from his first solo album) and "Shock Me" and 2 sung by Peter Criss "Hooligan" and "Black Diamond"; there are 2 performances of "The Fox" drummer Eric Carr 1982´s "I Love It Loud" and a rare performance of "I" from 1981 without Ace Fhreley only the 3 remaning members (Gene, Paul and Eric) and the mentioned performance of 1992 with guitarrist Bruce Kulick and drummer Eric Singer. Between the songs the video was hosted by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons who tell us anecdotes of the band and show us photographs of the group without makeup in the 70´s or the first makeup of Eric Carr who was "The Hawk" before "The Fox" and little participations of Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick. As a plus of this video, we can see adds of the group merchandise (albums, radios, dolls, etc.), interviews of local news programs, a clip of Conan O´Brien with Adam Sandler and a sketch in "Saturday Night Live" with John Belushi and Bill Murray, all related with the band. The only low point of this video is the mixing of the audio in 2.0 stereo and not in dolby surround; but in generaly this dvd is a MUST HAVE, watch it many times and envelop in the KISS universe.Read full review
