It was in excellent condition and was sent out immediately. I'd seen the movie before and wanted it for my collection. Kevin Kline and Meg Ryan were great!

The DVD was unplayable. We tried it in multiple devices and it was so scratched that it would skip over 20 minute chunks and then get stuck 2 minutes later. Very disappointed with this purchase! I love the movie, but was completely unable to watch it with this purchase.

Still hanging on to my trusty VCR, this is the type of film than I normally look for a 99¢ copy online. Since all you get is the movie, it's no different from a VHS tape. But it was probably because of the lack of extras on the DVD that the used price was for the disc was so low, so I splurged. Now, about the film itself: great. A first class romantic comedy that manages to tread the same ground as Meg Ryan's earlier films like "Sleepless in Seattle," "When Harry Met Sally," and "You've Got Mail," but because of the French locale, and the wonderful performance of Kevin Kline, it doesn't feel like a rehash. It really is fun to watch. Highest recommendations for the film, low score for the lack of any extra features on the DVD.
This is a really enjoyable movie. Meg Ryan, Kate, is terrified of flying. Her doctor fiancee is going to Paris for a medical conference and Kate was supposed to go along. At the last minute she chickens out because of her fear of flying. Her fiancee goes alone, and within a couple of days, calls Kate and tells her that he has met a goddess! He is in love and getting married! Kate is destroyed. Despite her fear, she boards a plane and flies to Paris, determined to win him back. On the plane she meets Luc, a Frenchman, a smuggler, and a total scoundrel. He is smuggling back a small grapevine that he intends to try to grow in France. He also has a stolen diamond necklace that he intends to fence for a lot of cash. Kate tells him her plan, and they sort of become entangled, totally by accident when Kate gets robbed for all of her luggage and money. In the process, Luc loses his grapevine and necklace because he hid it in Kate's bag to go through Customs. Luc agrees to help Kate win her fiancee back. Through many twists and turns, Luc steers Kate into position to reclaim her man. A funny thing happened though. . .Luc and Kate have fallen in love with eachother. This is a funny and tender movie and I'm sure that you will enjoy it too.Read full review
Really good chic flick two thumbs up!!! French Kiss is a 1995 American romantic comedy film set primarily in France, starring Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline. It was directed by Lawrence Kasdan. I loved the breath taking camera shots. here are some of the locations Filming locations The film takes place in three locations in France: Paris, Valbonne in the Alpes-Maritimes département in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur région of southeastern France, and Cannes. Charlie and Juliette stay at the famous Hotel George V, Paris. It is here Meg Ryan's character has her encounters with the supercilious concierge played by Laurent Spielvogel and it is in the lobby she is robbed by a Parisian pickpocket played by François Cluzet. Other scenes around Paris include numerous shots of the Eiffel Tower, driving past the Louvre Pyramid, and Meg Ryan's character using a phonebooth near the Arc de Triomphe. There are a number of street scenes shot on the Rive Droite. There is a corner in Montmartre where rue Paul Albert and rue Feutrier meet and Kline's character throws money on the sidewalk and later Ryan's character picks it up. The last scene in Paris is at the Gare Saint-Lazare train station where Kevin Kline's character is being chased by police inspector Jean-Paul Cardon (Jean Reno) while trying to board a train south to Cannes. One of the 'errors' in the film is that the train to Cannes does not leave from this station but rather from Gare de Lyon. (The trains from Gare Saint-Lazare go north towards Normandy.) In the small French village of Valbonne (about 15 minutes north of Cannes) Kevin Kline's character gets into a fight with his brother in the main village square in front of the Hotel les Armoiries (a 17th century building). There are also other scenes of the town in the film. There are scenes of a train station and the vineyards of the small hamlet of La Ravelle which is part of the town of Paulhaguet in the Haute-Loire département in the Auvergne région of south central France. In Cannes there are outside shots of the Carlton Hotel where the four main characters are staying. There are interior scenes of the lobby and the brasserie used for morning breakfasts. Scenes include the beach in front of the hotel along with the adjacent waterfront - in particular the Cartier boutique on the next corner.Read full review
