After their Eurovision triumph, Lordi gained a lot of new fans. They didn't let their fans down with "The Arockalypse"! Starting with a skit to open the album, there is a sudden burst of drums and then the rock is BACK! It takes a couple of listens to get used to as it is a bit heavier than "The Monster Show" or "Get Heavy" but it's worth it! Also it features Dee Snider and Jay Jay French of Twisted Sister and Udo Dirkschneider of Accept and UDO. There are some great hard rock songs on here, all snarling guitars and lush backing vox... my faves are "Chainsaw Buffet", "They Only Come Out At Night" and "Supermonstars (The Anthem Of The Phantoms". Buy this!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought this album because (like most people) saw them 1st on Eurovision 2006. I loved their entery song, Hard Rock Hallejuah, (which is also extended on the album) and thought i'd buy an album of theirs. I love this kind of music and all but 2 or 3 of them are brilliant well written songs. Found myself listening to nothing but this album for days on end. Definately *****
Another brilliantly "monstrous" album from the great rocker finnish group, Lordi. I bought this for the simple reason that they just prevail in bringign the upmost standard of whats expecting out of true heavy metal, not the crap that fake bands bring out today.
it has many good decent metal songs on this album, a bit different to usual metal but that is why i like it!
