This cd has many different twists and turns throughout the listen! Sound textures can go from disoriented sludge metal,with the opening track, "Everyone I Went To High School With Is Dead", to a concoction of quirky funk and prog rock on tracks such as "Chemical Marriage", and "Desert Search For Techno Allah". The entire listen has a very spaced out feel to it, it takes an open mind to really enjoy it! Disco Volante is a representation of Mike Patton and co. deranged musical vision, this record has a little bit of everything on it! If you like your music to sound interesting and original, I would highly recommend this disc!

Overall I like the other two Mr. Bungle albums but this one just didn't do it for me. It seemed that they were trying to hard to make the music discordant and different that it didn't display much of their skill in my opinion. I like their offbeat use of music on the other albums with songs like goodbye sober day or carnival but this just didn't catch my interest.
I love the variety of music, themes, and sounds on this CD. It shocks and pleases the ears. The talent in the group as instrument players, and the range of the vocals come together perfectly. A must have for anyone who likes music.
