This 'Psychedelic Navigator' CD release is a live gig the three musicians (Kawabata Makoto, bassist Atsushi Tsuyama and Guru Guru drummer & founder Mani Neumeier) had performed in Nagoya, Japan the previous year. I was utterly amazed at just how great this CD is. Starts off with "Stonerrock Socks" with reminds me that hard-to-find five track Jimi Hendrix EP 'Early Instrumentals', as "Bayangobi" brings to mind a couple of Guru Guru classics - like "LSD March" or "Electric Junk" and then there's the twenty-minute title track "Psychedelic Navigator" with almost an Avant Garde vibe to it and the finale - a 1971 Guru Guru concert staple, the foot-stomping "Bo Diddley" which is a bit different than the traditional version. Essentially, this is more like an actual Guru Guru live album. Never thought a drummer could 'make' a band as such. Highly recommended.Read full review
