Another great album from the midwest. This CD is definately the best effort from U.O. Although they have many other great tracks and other CDs, this CD is one great song after another. Crissy Hinde from the Pretenders has this CD on her top 10 list and it's easy to see why! If I had to describe the sound, I'd say it's got a post grunge feel to it. Very guitar driven music and they shift from alternative rock to a Lenny Cravits style of funk rock to melodic melow tunes like 90210. From positive Bleeding, Nite and Grey, Sister Havanna, to Dropout, this CD is pound for pound a must have!
US was one of the 90's best rock bands, 90's "alternative" pop sometimes mixed w/ punk and a warped sense of humor (which no one got). The band bucked the 90's grunge scene by wearing aristocratic gear and big gold chains with their UO logo on the medallions. This record showed diversity from pop anthems, to punk tunes, and even a dance track. Lot of bands today try to do this and it is the most popular music of the day, and they do it very seriously... UO was a tongue-in-cheek band that mocked the fame and excess of the rock scene of the time. I caught them live not long ago and they wer eplaying for about 20 people and they sounded incredible.
The music was great but once they started singing it killed it..I just id ot like the lyrics at all.I too think someone should have told them the 70s were over...I ended up giving this cd away and the person I gave it to thought it was great and just his style..I on the other hand did not like it and will not be purchsing another one..
I've always wanted this album and I'm very glad I finally bought it. This album kicks major butt. If you ever been interested in UO then you must buy this album. It's worth it.
CD burned perfectly in my car with no problems. Thanks!
