Notes
This album flows with extravagant beauty and simple grace. In fact, it was nominated for the CGMA's Album of the Year during the year of it's release, placing second in the Traditional Album Category. The album combines classic hymns such as "Just As I Am" and "Amazing Grace" while also introducing two original songs by the artist. Each song on the album has been carefully chosen to highlight the singer's love of God through music. It takes you on a spiritual journey of praising God, needing God, rejoicing in God and testifying of His goodness and grace. It is the kind of music that lifts the spirit and touches the soul. The original tunes fit well into the body of music with some being soft and melodic while others are dynamic and upbeat. The words convey the gospel message with a sound transcending all barriers. It includes some songs that the artist acquired from a Welsh heritage, with Welsh lyrics conveyed. Such beautiful melodies have been enhanced with dynamic vocals and superb instrumentation. The vocals are compassionate yet compelling, sensitive yet sincere. The album starts out quietly with a peaceful piano and builds adding a gentle guitar, fun-loving flute and heavenly harp. The infusion of Celtic overtones creates a delightful rendition of these timeless treasures. The flute, harp and percussion especially captivate the Celtic style. The wonderfully executed arrangements highlight the awesome vocals and give the songs depth and drama. It, in a nutshell, is 38 minutes of audible bliss wanting to be heard time and time again.
