DINNER RUSH came out as an indie and i saw it in one of those little trendy theatres on the recommendation of my wife who thought i would like the cooking scenes. i LOVED the cooking scenes, as they are totally authentic, but those scenes still take second place to the multi-level story that was told. as in life, there are many stories going on, from different love interests, to mobster action to generational differences to the mysterious stranger at the bar. this is a very tightly filmed movie, with no extraneous scenes and a resolution that is at once complete and satisfying. a perfect cast of actors makes this movie extra enjoyable as (after watching this movie five times!) i cannot imagine any other actors in any of the roles outside of the ones chosen. this is one highly recommended movie. This is one of the best movies I've ever watched and definitely the very best in the category of little known films. Everyone I recommended this film to have also raved about it. Great character development, great story, excellent acting , suspenseful and no gratuitous sex or violence. All this and a surprise ending

I'm surprised this film is not better known. An under the radar surprise. One night in a busy restaurant. Conflicts between the Father (the owner) and the Son (Chef) are just the start. Great actors portray a variety of customers. From Food Critics to a cop and his wife, an Art Dealer and his entourage, and a couple of shady characters - and more. A great concept executed with excellence. The acting is top notch and Direction is terrific. Check this film out. I promise it'll engross you and make you very hungry!
