I saw Savatage at least three times, Hall of the Mountain King, Street, Gutter Ballet. The first time in a tiny club called Narcissus in Kenmore Squ, Boston and it blew me away. The other two times were at The Channel in Boston I believe, definitely once there which was a larger club, but max capacity maybe 1,000. Their lives sets were phenomenal musically and entertainingly. Once at The Channel they changed the lyrics to Hall of the Burger King. I will never forget these shows or talking to Jon Oliva at them. They were a great band, incredible musicians and fantastic people. This live CD gets all taht across and the recording quality is perfect! If you ever saw Savatage and want to relive it, listen to this CD. If you never had the fortune to see them live, GET THIS CD!
Super live recordings of a guitar master. A greatest hits of early Savatage music recorded live. Great energy and shows they were able to play live as well as in the studio. A very good disk. Strongly recommended.
The late, great Criss Oliva is in top form on these live recordings from the "Gutter Ballet" era of the band. Plus, the addition of Chris Caffery on guitar gives the songs a much fuller sound live. Great CD!!
Great live CD full of killer guitar riffs from the late, great Chris Oliva. Venues include the legendary L'Amour in Brooklyn, New York.
Very good live music. The vocals and music are very similar to the studio versions with enough variation to keep you interested. If you like the older Savatage music add this to your collection.
