Loved the tracks I'd heard on the alternative rock station, and had to have it. Still love those tracks. The lyrics will make you think on this one, and some are a bit, um, scary. But this guy has SERIOUS piano talent, and a firm command of how to use unusual harmonies. If you're expecting, well, the expected... this ain't it. But if you want something that stands out - buy this album.
Avery new Tankian's CD is always big present and big pleasure to me. Serj Tankian is great musician and great man and great patriot. design of CD is so nice, that i'm going to purchase a few more as xmas present for my friends in different countries, starting from USA and Armenia and up to Swiss and Russia.
i liked the cd but felt it got old quickly. i bought it because empty walls is a great song. I'm kinda bumbed the cd got old i only listened to it all the way through maybe 3 or 4 times. tankian id a very odd but extremely creative artist
Don't listen to the critics who didn't appreciate this album. Elect The Dead is as good as any SOAD album and sometimes it's better. Extremely powerful, great lyrics, the vocals we've come to expect from Serj...you can't go wrong with this one. 5 Stars.
I love the music and lyrics. They are great. They fit our political crap in this country. Especially the firts two tracks. Plus I enjoy listening to System of a Down so when I found out that Serj was doing a solo project I just had to buy it. If you love System you'll love Serj.
