This review is purely an opinion. I have enjoyed almost everything Tim Skold has ever worked on excluding remixes. His first solo album was epic for its time. His vocals on Shotgun were great and his work on KMFDM was fantastic. MDFMK is one of my favorite albums ever. The first 3 tracks he released were great. However, this album just rubbed me wrong. I enjoyed track 6 but have a hard time liking much else. The Skold vs KMFDM album had 3-4 good tracks on it but this album has virtually no replay factor. And if you have a system(say in your house or home) it will disappoint you. Guitars aren't heavy and the industrial element is void. I will continue to support Skold in the future because the majority of his work has been wonderful. And the 4 times I've met him he has always been kind.Read full review
I've always loved Skold's solo work and his collaboration with Marilyn Manson. This is an album where he shows us what an amazing guitar player he's become. It's a bit melancholic, but also filled with noisy, disturbing sounds that appeal the minds of those who enjoy industrial music, heavy rock music, etc. If you like Marilyn Manson and/or Nine Inch Nails, you have to listen to this album. I'm sure it won't disappoint you. Tunes such as "(This is my) Elephant" and "And then we die" are simply amazing. I really recommend it; personally, I love this album and I'm looking forward for another one. As his official webpage states to accurately, " SKOLD steps up once again, supplying sonic solvent for the huffing social cynics."Read full review
Skold is just flat out talented. The only thing the album lacks is the one solid “single” the entire thing is very good tho
