Terrific album shows the range of a unique group of musicians taking hip hop and making it their own. The duo at the helm - Little T and One Track Mike - each have a unique vocal style. Crooner Shankbone Mystic, who went on to fame (fome?) with The LeeVees, brings yet another voice to the group. With The Saviour on bass and J Ride on drums, the rhythms are constant and driving throughout. Despite a terrific review in Rolling Stone at the release of this album and going on tour with OutKast, Atlantic's Lava label didn't renew, so the band has passed into history. The one hit that lives on is Shaniqua Don't Live Here No More, re-recorded by fraternities across the land.
"Moved into my apartment at the U-N-iversity. The only one who lives here is me. So why's the phone ring all day long. I got no friends except Mike and he's gone for the summer. And I just want some peace and quiet, come to my room and it's a telephone riot. Ring-a-ling-a-ling, every time I take a step, can't sleep, can't eat, can't breath, can't get any of my work done, cuz people keep callin' w/ the same damn question. (Hello, is Shaniqua there?) Nah, Shaniqua moved out last year. I think you have the wrong number, this is Little T. (You mean Shaniqua's brother?) Man, can't you just leave me alone, this ain't Shaniqua's house, this ain't her phone. And don't call back again, cuz if ya do ya know the answer man. Shaniqua don't live here no mo' [3x]. (Is Shaniqua there?) Hell no. Shaniqua don't live here no mo' [3x]. (Is Shaniqua there?) Hell no. I wonder who Shaniqua is. What she does and where she lives. Is she a pothead with too many zits. A movie star w/ inflatable tits. Does she take the train, or drive in a car. Work in the office, or down at the bar. How the hell should I know she could be Albino for all I care. (Hello, is Shaniqua there?) Yeah she is, but she can't talk now. She's busy milking are purple cow and talking to the easter bunny. (Man you think you're funny) Shut up, Beavis! I told you six times before. Shaniqua don't live here no mo'. Check my machine on Friday, there were 22 messages. Man I can't win at this. One said: (This is for the kid living with Shaniqua, you want that trick you can keep her) Will this ever cease, so I can get some sleep. Shaniqua moved out, leave your message at the beep. (Beep) (Yo, Shaniqua I love you, call me) (Kiss, kiss) Shaniqua don't live here no mo' [Chorus until the end]Read full review

A very cool album from Mid-2001 :) It's got one of the catchiest singles on record ("Shaniqua"). It's such a pity these guys (minus Tim Fite/Little-T, who went on to be the East Coast's answer to Beck Hansen) didn't blow up after 9/11, 'cause otherwise we'd have heard more of them, but the one album they made lives on.

This CD is a rock and rap mix with lyrics that are very unique and so humorous. I would recommend this music to everyone because from a person that mostly loves rock this is an amazing hip hop album.
