To me, Harry has been part of my entire families lives. His songs relate to all. A brilliant songster, and person. One could tell that he actually "felt" his songs and stories. I used to listen to one particular song called "The Bummer". For some reason I either misplaced my cd with this song, or it got lost when I moved. Looked thru all my Harry Chapin CD's and the song is not listed on the ones I possess. It was a lengthy song, that I would play when leaving work and it took me right to my door step. I will keep looking for it. I sure miss the Chapin toons. I read He is buried "under a over hanging rock, in NY as it was so dominant in his song called "The Rock" Still Looking...........marianvas
From the first notes of Short Stories you are struck by the brilliance of Harry Chapin's song writing talent with a remarkable combination of minor and major keys that draw your attention into the story and the music. And you are reminded again of the pychological power of music to transport you back into a specific place and time. Amazing, incredible, tallent.
Harry Chapin is a great story teller. His creativity is outstanding. I have most of his Lp's and CD's. This one was hard to find, I am glad to add it to my collection.
I just hope some of this generations has a chance to listen to Harry's stories. They evoke a vision of life very really matched today.
