This thirty five year old diamond showcases Edgar's screaming vocals in cuts like, You Were My Light,I've Got News For You, Where Would I Be, and the smokin Let's Get It On. The horns are loud and tight and there is some nice harp work on the latter cut. Edgar also adds a little gospel sound on songs like Fly Away and Save The Planet. The touchy soulful ballad Dying To Live, shows Edgar's softer range, and the rocker, Keep Playing That Rock And Roll, with the remaining titles bring this wonderful album full circle..Fast Eddie, Pittsburgh
This album came out in the early 70s,before Edgar went into the glam rock commercial vein.It is a bluesrock jazz fusion master piece.Along with Rick Derringer and Jerry Lacrioux, Edgar really lays it out. This album has some 24 carat blues as only Edgar can. Some rockers will not like the horns but the horns are not on every cut.Sadly there was no backup album that adequitly measures up to this piece. If you only have one Edgar Winters album, this is the one to have.If you heard the later commercial stuff but didnt like them, give White Trash a listen. This is a feelgood, little house rocker that youll sing along with.Norm--arrt11
Excellent blues/rock 'n roll album. Best one of all of Edgar Winter's musical incarnations. Jerry LaCroix is awesome -- what a tragedy he never achieved the prominence he deserved.
