Tiny Bradshaw was one of the R&B stars of Syd Nathan's King Records in the 1950s, but he was already a veteran of over twenty years in the music business by that time - having had recorded for the Decca, Regis, Manor and Savoy labels before landing with King in late 1949. Bradshaw's career with King, while really only lasting about five years, was unusually successful, having hits both with vocals and instrumentals. His band was also used recording behind various King artists. As a performer, Bradshaw was consistently cited as a top drawing band of the day along with Buddy Johnson and Earl Bostic.
