The MP37s are an exceptional set of forgings. I moved from a fitted set of Titleist AP2s (2 degrees up plus 1/2 inch over) to the Mizunos. As the MP 37s (2-PW) are standard they are a few (approx. 3 degress) flatter than the AP2s and 1/2 an inch shorter. I play to between a 11 or 12, depending on the day. I find that (to me) irons are more important asthetically and I prefer the thinner topline appearance. I find that I have better accuracy overall and specifically into the green with the smaller/thinner MP than I did with the AP2. Don't get me wrong, the AP2s are excellent clubs and do offer mre forgiveness on mistruck shots but I find the feel and setup of the MP37s more to my liking. Regarding play, I do hit some horrible shots (with any club) and find the discussions regarding forgiveness in one iron over another to be somewhat misleading anymore. Game improvement irons appear clunky to me and usually fight a slice problem which I don't have as I tend to hook the ball. so I like the thinner more classic look and setup. I think you can miss any iron and on some shots no amount of forgiveness will correct it. If you like thin classic looks I believe the MP 37s (or newer blade like forgings) should be one set of irons worthy of your consideration. As the MP 37s are fairly dated they may be tough to find especially in good shape from wear, i found mine on Ebay and they are/were in excellent conditions. Hope this is of some help to you. The MP37's were my first set of blades. I have played with these irons for the last 5years and I have had no disappointment. I currently play between a 6 and 7 handicap as a result of these irons. Distances are much more defined, workability is un matched, and the audible feed back is one of a kind as expected with the unique forging process Mizuno uses. You know when you strike it in the center and the ball takes off with a boring trajectory and seems like it does not want to come down. These clubs have a very appealing topline, and just seem to have that perfect weight to them. Mid & long irons are a little bit longer, and as a short statured golfer, I had them adjusted for me and I have not looked back. Trust me when I say these are the BEST irons I have ever hit. If you invest in a quality set such as these, have them adjusted properly, and they very well may be the proverbial "hook in the gills" as you will never be satisfied with anything else. The Mizuno MP 37's are the best kept secret in golf!Read full review
These clubs look, feel and play better than any club I've hit to date. I'm an 8 hcp and these are my first set of true blades. I was concerned my game might fall off until I learned to hit them. On the contrary, my ball striking is so much crisper. I actually hit 5-10 yards further than my ping i3 blades. This is likely due to better ball striking. My mis hits are still straight, just short. I've hit the mp67, mp32 and I like the way these set up better. The offset is minimal. I have s300 shafts and my trajectory is higher than I expected. I'm very happy with my purchase (steal in my opinion). I bought these used 4-5 times ($280), spent $30 to adjust the lie angle, and then straight to the range. It took about 50-100 balls to get the feel. If the mp32/67 are going for too much, consider these irons.Read full review
I was looking for a new set of Mizuno Golf Clubs and I found this set for sale. The best things about this particular set of golf clubs was that they were 1) brand new in the box and 2) that the shaft length was 1 inch longer than standard which works great for me cause I'm 6'4" tall. Mizuno golf clubs are the best golf clubs on the market, especially for better players who are looking to work the golf ball from left to right or right to left. I loved the fact that they were brand new in the box. Excellent golf clubs.
I have used these irons for a little over a year after playing PING ISI for several years. I hit these Irons just as far with much more control and the best feel of any club I have ever hit. They have a nice setup with a thin top line and small head making them very easy to hit and suprisingly forgiving on mishits. Even without sensicore shafts these clubs did not sting on mishits.
