I'm a sucker for nostalgia and anything that reminds me of my childhood as an 80's kid. Ghostbusters was by far one of my FAVORITE movies as a kid. The action figures and the cartoon series were the icing on an already sweet cake. This boxed set was the perfect cure for my sweet tooth all these years later. I just turned 30 and am such a kid at heart. I was so excited to hear that they'd finally put this whole package together. Another chance to relive my childhood. The set comes in a cool box that looks like the Ghostbusters firehouse. It's filled with all sorts of extras and 147 episodes of the awesome Ghostbusters cartoons that we all loved as kids. I raced out to the living room to watch every Saturday morning. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It truly is an awesome boxed set. With the release of Ghostbusters 3 coming in the near future, this is the PERFECT collectors item or gift for any Ghostbusters fanatic or nostalgic 80's Sap like me. I'd highly recommend it! Now if we could only get them to bring back Ghostbusters Cereal we'd really be in business!! Anyone help with that?Read full review
You you gonna call? You know who, or you wouldn't be reading this today. If you were a kid during the 80's, you couldn't get through it without being a fan of the Real Ghostbusters! The Real Ghostbusters are so named because the live action movie starring Bill, Dan, Harold, and Ernie, was made about the animated characters according to the cartoon series. Which explains why Egon has a blond hair tube/mullet thing going on. These cartoon spawned an endless array of merchandising that rivals most cartoon paraphenalia collections. If you want your kids to grow up right, put this on during Saturday morning cartoons! What they have to watch nowadays is garbage. Put this on. Also it wouldn't hurt to put on the original TMNT series, Garfield and Friends, My Pet Monster, the Beetlejuice cartoon, Count Duckula, Duck Tales, Chip 'n Dale, and every other great 80's and early 90's toon out there. If you do this, it might not be too late to save your kid! They're all lazy, trustafarians, with a huge sense of entitlement. This might save them. Maybe that's why they are called Generation Z, it's the end...think about it.Read full review
Finally after twenty years Ghostbusters fans finally got The Real Ghostbusters collection. I can not thank Time-Life enough for finally releasing this great cartoon. It is a beautiful continuation from the movies. Ghostbusters fans everywhere should pick up this collection. It is packed full of wonderful special features and commentary’s. The making and developing and also some of the cast mates give interviews. The episodes themselves are just as great and wonderful as I remember them. Some of them are a little rough but I guess you have to except that with a cartoon that is twenty years old. For the most part though it is a great collection and most of the episodes look and sound great. This was my favorite cartoon when I was little and it’s still my favorite cartoon now. It’s just great that this is being released so a whole new generation of kids can see it. It is much better then what they currently have on television now for kids. If you are a Ghostbusters fan pick it up and if you are just curious check it out you will probably end up liking it. Bottom line is when you are in trouble with something strange going on. I’ve been running through the box set for the last few days, and I can say that everything works perfectly here. Everything that was originally advertised is accounted for, the episode guide looks virtually untouched, and the discs all work beautifully aside from one disc that just needed some mild cleaning with an alcohol swab. I noticed that the top of the Volume 4 set was a bit frayed, but everything else was pretty much in mint condition (given the age of the box set). While this has nothing to do with the listing, I quite liked what I saw of the contents of the box set so far (only checking out one episode per disc), even if my interest becomes more swing-and-miss by the end (if you seen the show yourself, you should know what I mean)... Overall, a great value and a truly amazing find considering what’s inside the set and how much a complete listing goes for nowadays. Probably the best $400 I spent on a box set like this, if only for its general rarity.Read full review

This is the only way to get every episode of The Real Ghostbusters. Most likely in the future there may be another set but the current one is missing roughly 29 episodes including all the slimmer episodes. Two editions exist a steel book version and a normal version. With the latter usually being cheaper. If you are an 80’s kid or just want to see one of the greatest cartoons ever made WHO are you gonna call. The Real Ghostbusters.
