Fantastic retro system that competed strongly against the likes of the arguably more common GameBoy in its era when it was still tiny and black-and-white, the Atari Lynx was fast, with powerful graphics (4096 colors, unlimited sprites, an 8/16-bit CPU, etc.). Many of the earliest, best and strongest titles were designed and produced by Epyx, an excellent game production company in its own right with many classic hits (California Games, Chips Challenge, Slime World). Atari later started to port many of their best onto the system as well (S.T.U.N. Runner, RoadBlasters, Gauntlet). This second variant of the Lynx lacks the strong speaker audio, size and solid heft of the original but it makes up for it by being so lightweight, better of battery usage and improved in many small ways--including being smaller. Both are great in their own different ways and form factor. (I now own both.)Read full review

Atari Lynx II is a sleeper in the handheld gaming arena. It didn't sell nearly as well as its competition when released. However, it was miles, years ahead of Gameboy and Sega technically. The games, mostly arcade ports are still fun to play today. Now considered a prized classic platform. B&C Computervisions (Myatari) can always be counted on to provide top-notch products and their service can be relied up on.

nintendo had the amazing game boy, sega had the marvelous game gear, & atari had the top notch lynx. with an amazing color display & graphics that may only be beaten by the jaguar when it comes to other atari consoles, the lynx is a must have & you need to buy one now.

I've always loved the Atari Lynx but could never afford one when they were sold. I tried a used one a couple years ago which still had the original screen but it was blurry and hard to look at. The BennVenn screen in this one is amazing and really let's me fully appreciate all of the classic games available for the Lynx!

if you were unfortunate enough to have a gameboy back in the day, this unit will blow your mind! have no idea how this system lost out to gameboy. gb vs lynx, no color or back light vs colored backlit screen, lynx has adjustable brightness, VERY loud speaker, is ambidextrous, and just feels awesome in the hand.
