The CAD C9 condenser mic is designed for drum overheads. It does require phantom power. It is a very small convenient size for easy placement, and is super light weight. This mic is a great value, and is hard to beat for the money. The sound quality is great, very clear and does a super job on my drum kit capturing cymbals. I would recommend this mic to anyone needing a good mic for high frequencies. The only thing I didnt like was the mic mount, but thats just me. I used another mount and all was well. I have used more expensive overhead condensers, and where they have failed this one is still working just like new. Great product for the money. Recommended.

I am a soundman at a few open mics. My equipment has got to be dependable and predictable in use, as I usually have between 15-25 performers during the course of a night. These may be solo acts or total bands of 6 people, and only moments between acts. This mic works extremely well for the inevitable non-plugged instruments. Drums, guitars, and the shy little gal that thought she could sing all come to life with the C-9. It will work well for distant players who seem afraid to be near mics, and for a group of backup harmonizers too. Be careful though... it picks up EVERYTHING! Clean sound, very sensitive, powerful signal. Watch for feedback, turn off when not in use, all the usual things... not for mic-ing speakers.

I didn't think that they would be in such great quality. But they are . If u need to record instruments this mic is great . It's about 9 " from the instrument and not so much room sound . It works great 👍
