It's about what you'd expect for the price, but if you know anything about live sound, you should be able to get something adequate out of them. The overhead condensers didn't have any controls on them for HiPassFiltering, but you should be running into a mixer that does (or pre-mixer to save main mixer channels and add reverb without affecting the vocal effects. But for Pete's sake, run STEREO so you can pan things, even slightly, and make room for others... Also, consider running the kick and snare direct so you have more headroom for them.. At least the kick since it won't be needing reverb). I looked the specs up extensively before buying and everything I saw said they had switches for HPF and DbPadding (a volume reduction for mic'ing louder sound sources without distortion), but I have the PRO set and they do. So unless I got an odd batch, they're getting the two sets confused. The worst issue, for me, would be the cheapness of the grills and permattached mounts, but if you're not taking them on the road then they'll do fine. Kick mic has some frequency boosting (similar to the Audix D6 EQ curve, but not as smooth) and the weight feels substantial (Pun!).Read full review

As of now, only a week after they showed up, I haven't worked with them much. So this review is mainly about the seller. I got exactly what I ordered, and quickly. They all give good signal quality and sound clear to start with. I would give this a 5 star, except the mics are built with the clip bracket as part of the molded mic body. So if you want to use a boom stand to position the mics better and totally eliminate any mechanical transients from the drum through the clip, you have to use a spring-loaded mic clip - no other clip will get around the bracket. But for the price, these sound great so far.

Having mics to a mixing board has brought life and new sound to my drums and the ability to make my own drum patterns for recordings. Its the only way to go.

They sound like cheap mics but hey, that's what they are. The tom and snare mounts are cheap and don't stay in position. I don't recommend them. The kick mic actually sounded good when I miked up a bass guitar cabinet with it.

I use to use sennhieser 604e tom mics and akg c1000s overheads and these seem to come pretty close to those in response plus it comes with a snare mic. They all double up as instrument micing for other stringed instruments and such so it was a lot of bang for the buck. The kick mic isn't to bad for that style either and a mic case to boot. Can't really beat 7 usable mics for $130.00...
