Built to handle those 12" singles with the big grooves. Loud. Hasn't skipped on me yet. A great product for the $$$. Has lots of mids so those regular LP's might not sound so good. For my home setting and basic back cueing is great. UPDATE: GOT RID OF MY NUMARK TURNTABLE AND GOT AN UPDATE TO AN AUDIO-TECHNICA LP120 USB. UNFORTUNATELY THIS CARTRIDGE IS TOO LOUD FOR THIS TURNTABLE. SO CAN'T USE ANYMORE. THE MIDS ARE ESPECIALLY ANNOYING. I GUESS NUMARK FOR NUMARK, NOT FOR ANY OTHER BRAND.

These cartridges have a wonderful broadcast-style sound that I can’t get enough of. I’ve compared it to my other classic professional cartridges including the Stanton 500, 600, and 680; the Shure M44-7; and the Ortofon Concorde Pro. The Numark actually sounds like a combination of the Stantons and Shures. It has the wide sound stage and luscious midrange of the 680, the deep bass of the 500, and the power and intensity of the Shure. If I had to guess, I would say that Numark was trying to capture the best qualities of Stanton and Shure, along with the ease of use of the Ortofon Concorde series... and in my opinion they did just that.

I saw one of my favorite producers DJ’ing with this cartridge and he said he loved it. I use it for sampling and it’s got a gorgeous sound.
