Here's a series that I was able to sit through and watch from start to finish. (All one hundred episodes!) This was a series that I never saw as a kid and boy, did I ever miss out! The later addition of the character Bubba didn't thrill me but it wasn't enough to hurt this wonderful show. The premise of the show is simple. It involves three intelligent, trouble-making boys who happen to be the nephews of Donald Duck. Donald can no longer take care of the boys because he wants to join the navy so he turns to his uncle Scrooge for help. After some resistance, his uncle Scrooge takes the boys and that's where the series begins. Each episode follows uncle Scrooge as he goes on his adventures, tries to educate his grand-nephews and goes about running his business. After all, he didn't become the richest duck in the world sitting on his tail feathers. He has also since become my favourite Disney character. This series also sparked my interest in the 'duck-verse' so I read the Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics made surrounding these colourful characters. Ducktales is truly a hidden gem. (And uncle Scrooge needs more love!) This is definitely a worthwhile buy whether you're a Disney collector or just an animation enthusiast. My only real complaint is that the first volume DVD did not have the pilot episodes. So you have to buy the second volume to get them. I felt that they really should have released Ducktales in chronological order so the viewers wouldn't get confused as to the order of events. (Yes, the series is semi-story oriented... at least at the start.)Read full review
Though I haven't received it yet, Ducktales is a very wonderful program for everybody to watch. Personally, I like Ducktales for the storytelling which is based on the comics by Carl Barks and other great Disney artists including the great Don Rosa who pretty much invented the Ducktales layout including the Money Bin. For me, all episodes are my favorites, but I am partial to the ones that are closer to home including episodes such as "Armstrong" where a robot plots to take over the world from Gyro's lab, "The Money Vanishes" where the Beagle Boys manage to trick Scrooge into spraying a potion that Gyro invented onto his money, and "Earthquack" where Scrooge ends up in cavern popluated by strange rolling beings who produce earthquakes as part of their "Olympic Games" though the only thing on Scrooge's mind is saving his money bin. Keep in mind that Ducktales is a wonderful series of all to watch. Despite listing these three episodes, I don't have a ranking order of favorites, I enjoy all the episodes produced, and the original characters created for the series, such as Duckworh, Launchpad McQuack, Mrs. Beakley, Webby, and Doofas among others. Fans are also treated to occasional appearances by Donald Duck and other Carl Barks creations such as Magicia DeSpell, Flintheart Glumgold, Gyro Gearloose, and Gladstone Gander. Overall, I rate the entire series as excellent, and the DVD's are a must own item for everybody. You will not regret purchasing this or any other Ducktales product.Read full review
Its great that Disney finally decided to complete this wonderful cartoon. Its just too bad that it would take over 20 years for them to do so. The episodes on this DVD is very varying in quality, both in picture as in sound so understandibly why some episodes never got released. Is those damages caused by neglect or bad original source, i dont know but guess some episodes can be found on the web to be restored for better quality. But in the end its great that the rest of the episodes now are available on DVD, next step is to release it in 1 single box so you dont have to do detective work to find out if the box fits into what you currently own, and after that release it in various european languages too for nostalgia

DuckTales, ah-woo-hoo! Everyday my kids ask for their DuckTales, ah-woo-hoo! The first season was full of fun and feather-raising adventure, so let the second season begin... If you're looking for a great way to spend some family time, or a show you can let your children watch without any worry of offensive behavior, you've found it with Disney's fowl friends. The good times are never-ending (especially when you restart the disc) in Duckburg with the DuckTales gang!
