James Bond smashed onto the big screen in 1962 with Sean Connery in Dr. No. The six other movies in this set give a broad representation of 007 representation. Connery's Goldfinger Bond is the other 60's release included. For the 70's Roger Moore's Bond includes The Man With The Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me. 80's Bond was Timothy Dalton with Licence To Kill represented. Finally the 90's Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies round out the collection with Pierce Brosnan. Some of these movies hit my 'favorites' list, others don't. But this set does give an excellent broad view of 20th Century 007. Each movie includes hours of extra material including things like full-length directors commentaries, 'The Making Of' featurettes, background comments from crew and actors, trivia, and TV and big screen trailers. With seven movies and the plethora of quality extras included this set is good value for the money and allows Bond fans to dig deeper into the 007 experience. - Sean Connery is NOT the first actor to appear as 007 on the big screen. (Another actor did the 'crosshairs silhouette' scene this first outing!) - Sean Connery never went to Miami for the filming of Goldfinger. The scenes were all done with either sets to match the broad shots or with blue screens. - The Man With The Golden Gun's Maud Adams is the only actress to have co-starred in two 007 movies (she appears in three!) - The world's largest sound stage was built specifically to match the larger-than-life needs of The Spy Who Loved Me. - Licence To Kill was originally to be named Licence Revoked but MGM studios determined that the average American didn't know the word 'revoked'. - Goldeneye opens with the actual world record highest bungee jump. - Tomorrow Never Dies was to have been shot in Vietnam but at the very last minute (crew were literally about to board planes) the country rescinded permission. Fortunately they incredibly found a suitable substitute location in Thailand almost immediately. Four Bond's. Three M's. Two Moneypenny's. One Q. Countless bad guys, gadgets, and chase scenes. What's not to love?Read full review
A great selection of James Bond films in one boxed set. I have Volume II, also a great selection. All DVD's are in great condition at a great price. I watch one movie every night before I went to bed and remember each...nothing can bring back memories like watching James Bond 007 movies...
