My old rigid NiCad batteries had worn out and I was looking at buying a whole new set of tools ($400/$500). I found these, and found that they are backwards compatible on the tools. I’ve been using them now for several weeks it’s like a brand new set of tools. I also had to get a new lithium charger, but it was well worth it.

Very lightweight.
At this time, having used the product for a week, my impressions are 'medium' or luke-warm. It is holding a charge. It is running the drill. But it is much much lighter in weight/heft than the original battery. It is very lightweight in comparison. I have not been able to tell for certain if it lasts quite as long yet, but I worry it will have short life. It seems to. The light weight indicates to me that it has fewer cells inside, and while the product title said 3Ah, there are no markings on the battery. It's about a third of the weight of a regular 3Ah unit. The concern is also if it will charge a few times and then be unable to keep a charge, as many of these batteries that are not original seem to do. I've read many reviews about these that show faults and the charger will not accept the battery or such, and the unit becomes unusable in a short time. It will be a good value only if I am still using it a year from now, so this is the best review I can provide until much later.Read full review

I bought these batteries to try out in place of the home depot brand because they are cheaper. I have had them for a couple of weeks and have had no issues not sure how long they will last but I got the 2 year replacement warranty so we shall see.

Tools are great. Batteries, . . . ahh, . . . not so much.
I have 15 of these batteries now after just buying two more. That brings my total of properly-working batteries to three. The older ones just don't hold a charge, but these newer ones with the fancy "fuel gauges" have an unbelievably-complicated computer board inside, and as with most unnecessarily-complicated electronics, like in cars, it can be expected to fail. One stops charging when the third LED stops flashing. A few don't turn on the chargers any longer. All the batteries with the fuel gauges developed problems related to the computer boards, not with the cells themselves. They hold a charge just fine, if you can get them to charge. The next problem, the batteries with computer boards will suddenly stop working without warning when they get low on charge. Makes for lots of frustration when you climb up ladders into dark places, then have your flashlight go dead and your tools won't work. Instead of running up and down after fresh batteries, it's more efficient to just take the time to drag an extension cord and use corded tools. The tools are great. I have three circular saws, three reciprocating saws, three flashlights, a driver, multiple drills, multiple chargers, and a jig saw. Out of five dual chargers, one doesn't work at all, and the other four are dead on the left side. That appears to be a real common problem, which suggests a design issue. I have a lot of other Ridgid power tools. They all work great. It's just these batteries that leave a lot to be desired.Read full review

Voltage drops to zero
Bought 4 of these. Charged them using a new factory Ridgid charger. Used one to power a Ridgid X4 work radio. After 1 minute the battery voltage dropped to zero . Tried again on another radio: same problem. Tried a different battery: same defect. Returning for refund.
