The book presents a computer scientist's approach to how the brain works. The author explains a structure for the brain and its operations using terms and models based on computer science. At times, especially in the beginning chapters of the book, you would say 'ohh no way, this is oversimplified' since the author has a rather different perspective on the functioning of the brain that treats emotions/feelings as any other ordinary tasks of the brain. Most of us, by default assume that emotions are complicated and more complex than described in the book. However, the author's view is consistent and convincing. There are also many things which will surprise you, and sound exciting. Marvin Minsky is one of the best minds in computer science today. It is definitely a book worth reading.
