This was ordered as a Christmas gift for our 13 yr old son. He adores transformers and takes excellent care of them. There is a piece on Chewbacca that flips down to become the front center cover between the two forward mandibles. It broke off within only 2-3 transformations. That being said, I believe we will be able to fix it with some special glue designed for plastic and resin. Just very disappointing to have it happen so soon after opening, especially on Christmas Day. This could just be a week spot on this unit, or a systemic failure on the toy overall. It would be worth the time to research and see if others had the same issue. Other than that, the toy is great! Its a medium size with a weighty feel, and all the pieces seem to transform very well. There are instructions on YouTube as well as those included.Read full review

My words to say about this toy set are the fact that it sucks. It contains the worst gold plastic syndrome ever. Mechazeereviews on YouTube clearly reviewed it to viewers not to purchase it and yet he was 100% right. Now it looks like I have bought more than I bargained for already. The Chewbacca's Mecha is the worst one ever. You can't play with it, you can't display it or even transform it without breaking it no matter how gentle you are with your collection. This figure is not going to hold up no matter what. The only one that survived is the Han Solo Mecha. However they're are other Transformers in my collection that contains the same problem, but this goes far beyond the rest of them. I'll bet Lucas was broken hearted when he learned about it himself. I've spent like $81.00 plus shipping charges and this figure fresh out of the package is already over expired. It's because of Hasbro's quality control issues lately. The dark side I sense in them. That's why I'm reconsidering buying Beast Wars Transquito because he too has gold plastic parts. Even other Star Wars Transformers Crossover figures have better quality than this thing. And yes I already know about the new Takara version of this toy that just got released but I haven't made any plans in purchasing it now. I think I've spent enough from my budget as it is. Now it stays in a plastic zip lock bag forever. End of story!Read full review

unfortunately the problems with the figure are inherent to the material and cant be fixed, Chewbacca was made with brown metallic swirl plastic for much of his limbs and this material is infamous among toy collectors for randomly shattering with almost no exerted force, its not a bad design, a stress fracture or you being too tough on it, the material breaks apart from the inside and is just begging for the first possible excuse to explode. if you choose to get this figure you have only two good options, never open it and display it as a sealed box, this isnt a figure that is so fragile it will routinely shatter in the package like some are, or take great caution and transform chewy into ship form and never undo it, this is the only stable position he has once removed from the plastic and be aware that he might break in this process. you can use normal super glue to put him back together in most cases allowing you to get him into your selected permanent configuration it isnt impossible to play with him but it is heavily discouraged and comes with a strong risk, han however is a perfectly usable figure with no particular issues of note so go nuts with him once you've decided on what to do about his copilotRead full review

I selected "no" for durability, because this set of Transformers can be easily broken. I bought this set to replace the set I bought back when this toy was released. Although this set was my collectible, I would occasionally allow my sons to play with it, when they played with their Transformers. It was accidentally broken. Chewbacca is very top heavy; that's the reason why it was busted. My sons are not destructive. They've always taken very good care of their toys. Other than that accident, Buzz Lightyear would be the one to say, "This is a cool toy!" It shoots projectiles, it has neat sound effects and the thrusters light up blue. Best!Transformer! Ever!

Amazing replica with rotating and firing top laser canon and side firing laser. Cool transformation and great design. Nephew broke Chewy’s arm 60 seconds after taking out the box. He also decapitated Han Solo pilot while placing him in awkward cockpit. Design is good. Cheap plastic? I see this as catastrophic to score since it’s rendered unplayable in robot mode. Having friends who are amputees I believe if hasbro sent out a prosthetic arm mod kit, daily tasks like aiming crossbow lasers would require less effort and make Chewy feel more useful to the duo.
