Pros: I love this radio, it has Great reception for both AM & FM. The sound quality is very good and adjustable with the treble & bass knobs and the wide or narrow settings. I needed this radio for the kitchen and specific areas outdoors where the reception of week signals made the previous portable radio worthless. If you don't like the modern digital tuning & presets for stations, this old school model might be just what you want. The power cord has a compartment for storage & is not detachable. If you use 6 D size batteries in it, it is a bit heavy but they last a long long time. Cons: The only feature that I wish this awesome portable radio had is a "line" input so other devices could be played thru it, but I knew that before buying it.

Both a woofer & a tweeter speaker, with a tone control pot. Excellent sensitivity both AM & FM. D-cell power+AC cord. A bit heavy, but very sturdy handle levels playing field. Not digital turning, but the vernier tuning is easy and the radio has a narrow/wide frequency switch, which really helps in separating stations, day or night. Also has an external antenna connection, for those AM DX'ers. A bargain!

I own 3 of these radios. They all are some of the best portables that were sold. AM broadcast is really good for late night DX-ing. I mostly use these on battery power, as they're quieter (no slight power supply hum). The batterys ("D" cells) seem to last forever. The radio is a bit bulky, but the quality makes up for it.

Nice unit, THE RECEPTION ON AM band is exellent. Overall this is a great radio for the quality and price range. The large speaker could be better on high volume. There are very few radio manufacturers left and I wish that at least one will fabricate good quality with less plastic and built like a tank ! All those LCD's display on todays modern radio will not last like the famous old dial !

The radio is very precise and has great range. Those qualities can make it difficult to tune in lessor stations on a crowded dial. Preset station buttons would help in tuning in different favorite stations.
