At this price, it's a no brainer for anyone that wants to play bluesy slide guitar music. Awesome tone for such a simple instrument and VERY easy to play. My only complaint would be the piezo electric pick up, as a rule they can be very microphonic and are feedback monsters. This is true of all piezo devices so is to be expected. All in all very happy with it. I couldn't put it down for the first 4 hours I had it!

Not a real cigar box at all, but a paper covered thin card board box. Very cheaply made and the sound proves this. The slide is too small to work properly. The neck is terrible. Not smooth to operate. Highly disappointed in this product.

Bought this on a whim, and wasn’t expecting much considering the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. This thing really sounds pretty good. I tried making a cigar box guitar once and probably spent about as much as this cost on parts, and it sounded terrible. Now I’ve got to try out some different tunings, because playing the blues in the same key gets depressing after a while.

This is a great way to learn slide guitar. It is small & easy to learn. The book is full of great info. The CD is great, with back tracks, A tuning track so you do not need to buy a tuner, as long as you have something to play the CD in. It would be a good idea to buy a cheep tuner. As far as the price you just can't beat it. You can buy one for any wear from under $20.00 to $59.95. you just have to look around for a good price. Even at $30.00 to $ 40.00 is well worth it. The sound of the guitar very good and a small amp helps the sound but is not a must. Also you can take this any ware. In all this is a great product and was well thought out. Plus it is just fun to play!!

Obviously, this is a “for the money” rating. I used a smaller diameter bolt for the nut, and using pieces I cut from a clothes hanger, a file, and some gel-type superglue, I made frets to replace the lines on the neck. This allows it to be played, fingering the frets, rather as a slide guitar. Works great! Using the original bolt at the nut still allows it to be used as a slide guitar.
