This product was easy to install and get running. I would have liked a bit more in functionality, but I also could have purchased My Cloud to get it. Overall for a NAS type, it is good. I do not like the 'server' portion being hidden, but can understand why. Networking options are good for most purposes. Advanced routing can be done through a router to take care of the rest. Overall, I cannot complain about this product at all. For what it is, there are no problems at all and it performs exactly as it is advertised to do.

I love the Western Digital MyBook Live! This product was everything I envisioned and more! I purchased this product to create a family cloud. With so many family member stretched across the country, I wanted a way to store family pictures and videos in one centralized location where we all have access to them. I also created a movie list of my family's top 500 movie. Now each of us have access to the cloud weather it be on our iPads, laptops, or home computers. A gem for traveling! No loading the car with DVDs! No pay for views going to our hotel or resort! Now I want the 6tb for my personal Movie Store! I have just started to digitalization my entire library of blu-rays and will then be able to stream to every TV in the house in HD quality. No standing in front of a connivence store! The price of these units has come down since it was purchased but it has been great. Works with all devices; mobile, desktop, tablet, smartTV. The Roomba even knocked it off the desk and no apparent damage other than a chip in the case. This device has worked just as promised and at a good price.

At the start of the year my laptop computer corrupted. I lost everything. I was determined to avoid this happening ever again. Only I wanted more than an external USB hard drive. I wanted to have a backup happen effortlessly and consistently. With my background in Linux and using a Linux desktop "Rsync" effortlessly performs the backup. What is helpful to me is MyBookLive runs Linux. I was able to tweak it to erase old backups automatically. This isn't to say you must be a 'Geek' to buy this. With it's user interface once it is configured it will serve your entire family well. Photos and videos of special memories need to be preserved. Cell phones break. You'll regret not having a system for backing up your data.

I love this WD Hard Drive. It does everything it promises and then some. I have started downloaded my movies onto this as I'm disabled and I can sit in my chair and watch my movies without having to get up and down constantly changing discs. It's awesome :-)
