The water resistance & fit "any arm" stretch band are the best features of this watch. It is a very pretty watch, but there are definite drawbacks. Contrary to what is published, this particular unit does not light up an "Indiglo" night light at all! That was the biggest disappointment. Furthermore, the numbers are fine, but the "written words" on the face are so tiny that they can barely be seen without a magnifying glass. My child hasn't even noticed that the words "to" and "past" are on the face of the watch; therefore, I didn't attempt to point them out, because she would have become frustrated. That being said, I purchased the watch, because she is learning to tell time the old fashioned way, via analog, and Timex is trusted by me when it comes to analog watches. She loves the watch and it fits her graceful little arm perfectly. Would I purchase another one? The answer is "absolutely yes." Who knows? Perhaps the night light would "Indiglo" on a different unit. Our unit may simply be defective.Read full review
I bought this watch for my seven year old daughter, since it was a school requirement. I truly like the watch band because its fit can be adapted to the slimmest wrist diameter. The watch it self is easy to read and she learned to tell time in a few minutes. The color and flower design make it quite informal, and definitely didn't overwhelm her with details. The flower running along the seconds hand was quite a catchy detail for her. I haven't seen her friends' time pieces, so I cannot compare it among the others "first watch collections". I like to have plastic crystal. Less of a chance of breaking it, although it can be scratched. What I would improved is the crown, since it is too small. It is difficult to handle. Oh, the activation of "Indiglo" is effortless.
Great watch for smalls. Bright and fun and warerproof. I just wish it still had the indigo function it used to have.

I wanted my 6 year old daughter to learn how to read an analog watch, so this seemed to be a no brainer. Well, its good to have the hands labeled, but the writing is tiny. It is not unreadable, but small none the less. The biggest disappointment of this watch is the band. It will NOT stay buckled. The band is elastic, so as the watch is brushed against anything the band stretches, therefore gets smaller and the buckle releases it little by little until it unbuckles. We are going to sew velcro or snaps on to it to alleviate this problem. Other than that, its a good watch. After all, its a Timex.
My daughter received this watch in her Easter basket. 1 week later, she was telling time by herself! Very kid friendly. The 12-6 side of the watch says "PAST", the 6-12 side of the watch says "TO". Next to each number 1-12, there's a 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. so kids can easily read that when the minute hand is on the 3, it is 15 minutes "PAST" the hour. GREAT WATCH! I'm buying one for all the 1st graders in my daughter's class....as the birthdays creep up.
