Man Of Steel begins on Krypton, Kal-el, a scientist, and his wife Lara, are preparing to send their infant son on a long perilous journey to earth to save him from the imminent destruction of their planet. Their efforts are almost thwarted by General Zod, who will be tried for treason and murder, exiled and imprisoned with his army. From this point on the story line takes a different direction from preceding Superman movies. Man of Steel’s Clark Kent, having grown into a young man, who in order to save earth must do battle with General Zod who has escaped from the black hole prison with his army, and made his way to earth to retrieve a device that will restore Krypton at the cost of earths destruction. Lois Lane knows Superman’s true identity, and is his confidant and helps our hero in defeating Zod. Man of Steel concludes with Clark Kent hired as a reporter at the Daily Planet. Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel does a bang up job, together with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russel Crowe as Kal el, Kevin Costner as Kent’s human father, and Michael Shannon as Zod, complimented by a fine support cast and spectacular special effects, make Man of Steel an exciting action-packed movie that would make a great addition to any Superman collection.Read full review
The storyline is a good updating of the classic Superman story. The interplay of flashbacks is very helpful. I've seen all the Superman incarnations and Henry Cavill is perfect. I look forward to seeing him continue in the role. I also like that Lois Lane is not portrayed as helpless but a more capable and brave career woman. On the other hand, the movie has a LOT of destruction. Just because the movie makers have the ability with CGI to blow things up, DOES NOT MEAN THEY SHOULD.

The most serious and entertaining Superman version I've ever seen! It is an adult oriented realistic portrayal that is loaded with action and intensity. This is the first time the titular Man of Steel has been presented in a real world setting and it is a triumph in every way. The musical score by Hans Zimmer is excellent as well. Henry Cavill looks like he could crush a gorilla as he should. This is my favorite superhero film ever.

WB you have produced a movie that will inspire generations. It is very rare for a movie production studio to produce a movie that can inspire people from all different backgrounds. Everyone can identify with this movie and the story line. It has been and will always be my favorite movie that you have ever created. I purchased this movie so that I am reminded that once upon a time there existed a movie theater that actually got it right when it comes to creating the most spectacular movie on earth.
