A genre-defining first-person shooter from EA DICE and Electronic Arts, Battlefield 3 is the first main canon direct sequel in the Battlefield series of video games to be released for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3), with Battlefield 2 having only been available as a PC edition. Overall, the game is the eleventh installment in the popular Battlefield series and has remained a popular addition since its 2011 release date. Covering various locations around the globe, including Paris, New York City and Azerbaijan, but mostly focusing on Tehran and Iraq, Battlefield 3 – Limited Edition on the PS3 is the story of the War of 2014. Players control four characters in the campaign mode, which centers on flashbacks and the U.S. Marines. These characters are Staff Sergeant Henry “Black” Blackburn; Sergeant Jonathan “Jono” Miller; Lieutenant Jennifer “Wedge” Colby Hawkins; and Dimitri “Dima” Mayakovsky. The game’s cooperative mode benefits from the Battlelog social network, which enables text-based and voice communications between players across a range of platforms. This system also handles in-game statistics and the ability to join games hosted by friends, provided all players are on the same consoles. Multiplayer remains one of the Battlefield games’ strengths in Battlefield 3 – Limited Edition on the PS3. Players can choose from four unique specialties, each with their own weapon proficiencies and abilities. The assault role has a focus on assault rifles and medical support, while the engineer class places emphasis on the support and destruction of vehicles. The recon role is all about remote support, sniping enemies from a distance and placing radio beacons as a spawn point, and the support role concentrates on light machine guns and supplying ammunition to teammates. Multiplayer game modes are numerous and varied, with a choice that includes Conquest, Rush and Squad Deathmatch. Also included for a change is Team Deathmatch, which hasn’t been seen in any Battlefield game since the classic Battlefield 1942. Running on Electronic Arts DICE studio’s Frostbite 2 engine, Battlefield 3 – Limited Edition on the PS3 represents a benchmark in first-person shooter gaming, providing excellent visuals, lighting effects, lifelike animations and a massive sense of scale in the maps. The game engine is also known for its audio quality and realism, including bullets whizzing past and environmental destruction and explosions that throw you to the ground to immerse players like never before in the experience of war. Amid the carnage, players are forced to duck for cover, drag wounded comrades into safety and get strategic with virtually any environmental feature to mount weapons. A range of vehicles adds to the realism of the missions and includes land, air and sea vehicles. Among the most impressive and welcome of these offerings are fighter jets, complete with sonic boom sound effects. Terrains vary to accommodate different vehicles, ranging from open landscapes to tightly packed streets and downtown areas. Special content bundled with this limited edition version of the game includes the digital multiplayer expansion pack for the PS3 Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand, which features four iconic Battlefield 2 maps upgraded with the destructive and visual characteristics of the Frostbite 2 engine. This limited-edition version of Battlefield 3 on the PS3 also includes a weapons and vehicles pack from Battlefield 2, along with exclusive rewards, achievements and trophies. Great, but not as good as Bad Company 2
I was a huge fan of Bad Company 2 (made by Dice), and I had to have Battlefield 3. Campaign was short and sweet, but most people buy for the multiplayer. Overall, it is great, but it still needs tweaking. A new patch is coming out soon, but it is overdue. The game seemed to have stepped a little too far from Bad Company 2, and tried to cater to Call of Duty fans. Some maps are close quarters, and many people abuse the shotgun on these maps. Too much bullet drop and less destructibility makes this game less than its brother, but a beautiful graphics engine along with amazing sound design, more guns, vehicles and wide variety of maps, you won't be wasting your money.

Owning Like a Bozz BF3 style!
Battlefield 3 by DICE has become an online network trend in late 2011 and going into 2012. You have a choice to load out as a medic, recon, support, or an engineer, depending on your preference or what is required by the situation. The console versions sports up to 32 players online, while the PC version is up to 64. The less numbers in console mode is not a hindrance, since there have been tweaks to game modes and play areas to account for the lesser numbers. There is an awesome online resource called battlelog.battlefield.com for looking up in depth stats on your network account. From here you can review statistics, talk with friends about strategy, look at various unlock requirements, and even change your dog tags. If you knife someone in game you steal their dog tags. Nothing is sweeter than owning like a boss and nabbing some dog tags! Sound design is a 10 out of 10. Campaign is good but nothing incredible. Destructible buildings and cover is cool. Jets, tanks, vehicles, helicopters make the game insanely fun! No MW3 haters ya'll!Read full review

BF3 WAY BETTER THAN COD3
Limited Edition is the way to go because you get a set of dog tags, a gun, and the map back to karkand which you would have to pay for if you did not get limited edition. The game play itself is very fun and some map have vehicles you can drive or fly with close quarters maps to wide open maps. It serves perfect game play for every gamer from foot soldier to sniper type players. Can't rambo it too much in this game expect to actually work as a team to win against good opponents. I like how when you flank an enemy and hold the knife button you grab them and take their dog tags as a souvenir. It's way better then call of duty where its all about who sees who 1st and no actual battle tactics. You gotta check it out for yourself, it's worth the $.

Battlefield 3 Equals No Sleep
I bought this game because of all the positive reviews I've seen and read. The graphics for this game is unbelievable and the gameplay itself is pure epic. There are TONS of vehicles to drive, including the all-popular jets that make a return to Battlefield. I didn't really like the feeling when you move as there is a slight delay from moving your analog stick to actually moving in the game, although I'm sure I will get used to it. There is a steep learning curve, so don't give up after a few games. It will be much better as you go along! Overall, the fun factor is above and beyond the Call of Duty series and the Bad Company series.
