This book was a great help while I was trying to get info on the basics. It didnt have a lot of detail about the types of countertops now available but it was written 5 years ago, so a lot has changed since then. I would purchase this book again if I were going to do a kitchen remodel and wanted just some basic info, and as a matter of fact, I will soon be looking for Dummies book on Bathroom Remodeling. I think that these series of books have a great deal of info and put the materials language where a layman can understand it and armed with the knowledge you get from these books, you can feel confident when you enter any store and start looking for a particular item or brand and know that you already have as much information as most of the salespeople, so you feel more confident about shopping for items needed for renovations.Read full review
