I like Star Trek. I've watched it in one form or another since it first aired on NBC back in the mid-1960's. I used to watch it, lying on the floor in front of our Color TV console with my mother [who was a giant Sci-Fi fan - at the time]. Some episodes are good, some great, some not so good, some a little-bit 'preachy'. The 1960's were like that. But the show, as a whole was ground-breaking television which has evolved into a sub-culture that has really gone main-stream since the year 2000. As far as episodes go, I always enjoyed the Time-Travel episodes. I also liked the Alternate Realities episodes [although I never really grouped them together like that until Deep-Space 9 had it's flirtation with the Mirror Universe. Over the years, with Next Generation, I enjoyed the various episodes with Q. I really liked "Tapestry" - showing what Jean-Luc Picard's life would have been if he had not been so 'impetuous' in his young Academy Day [when he lost his Heart fighting Norsican's]. I addition to Q episodes, I also grew to enjoy the "Deeply Klingon" episodes. I tried to group Together "Yesterday's Enterprise" with "Klingon Civil War" [Tasha Yar's Daughter - Sela] episodes as well as other Klingon episodes onto 1 8-hour VHS tape [but it took time for the episodes to be on your cable channels and for you to remember to tape them.. that was then. Now you have Sets being groups [across the spectrum of series] into catagories that "mirror" my own [and alot of other Trekkers] tastes. So, the Alternate Realities set really caught my eye. Due to it's complete representation of the Mirror Universe episodes from TOS, Deep-Space-9, and Enterprise. the episodes from Star Trek: Enterprise were prime Science Fiction from the opening sequence [where Zephram Cochrane Orders an all-out siege of the Visiting Vulcan's from First Contact, through the Opening Credits sequence showing all sorts of war-like history [in place of the Hope-filled Sailing and Flights imagery that are usually part of Enterprise's opening] and all through the well-written episodes. I wanted to see more! My next hope is that someone will be 'bold-enough' to offer a Star Trek "Mirror Universe" feature length movie! That would be awesome! Sincerely, Jim Madden Full-time trekker!Read full review
All I can say about this set is, IT'S ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!! This set has a lot good episodes dealing with alternate timelines in all five "Star Trek" series. One of the best is the "Enterprise" two-parter, "In a Mirror, Darkly", which tells how the Mirror Universe comes to power. Very well done. The worst part is the fact that only three of the DS9 Mirror Eps are included. My guess is that Paramount had to be fair and include four eps from each series, so I can't really complain. All told, it's a great set that ranks up there with the Borg Collective and Klingon sets.
This is a Fan Collective about What If stories and events that could happen if the characters didn't take the 1st approach. These were the darker episodes from all five shows. 1 - Star Trek: The Alternative Factor 2 - Star Trek: Mirror, Mirror 3 - Star Trek: The Enemy Within 4 - Star Trek: Turnabout Intruder 5 - Star Trek: The Next Generation: Yesterday's Enterprise 6 - Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Inner Light 7 - Star Trek: The Next Generation: Frame of Mind 8 - Star Trek: The Next Generation: Parallels 9 - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 43: Crossover 10 - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 66: Through The Looking Glass 11 - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 76: The Visitor 12 - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 92: Shattered Mirror 13 - Star Trek: Voyager: Before & After 14 - Star Trek: Voyager: Timeless 15 - Star Trek: Voyager: Course: Oblivion 16 - Star Trek: Voyager: Shattered 17 - Star Trek: Enterprise: Twilight 18 - Star Trek: Enterprise: E2 19 - Star Trek: Enterprise: In a Mirror, Darkly, Part 1 20 - Star Trek: Enterprise: In a Mirror, Darkly, Part 2 Grab this collection. Its cheaper that buying the shows. Great for Star Trek fans and Fans who like Alternat Timelines!Read full review
I bought this set because I saw a couple of these shows back in the, well just back. WOW, there are more than I thought and I get to see all the different Star Trek spinoffs. I really like this. I like the fact that these are probable recorded from org. tapes. The reason I say this is because the spaces for the adds are there very short but there. five ***** easily
