Icing on the plains is very informational and details the Kansas City Scouts on almost a game by game basis. If you are interested in this team and hearing about the roots of the New Jersey Devils it is a must read. The book is not as strong from an entraining or story telling standpoint. The focus is on the team and players and is excellent in connecting the reader with those individuals who pioneered the organization. I have enjoyed it because I want to know about the franchise history and now see pictures of the early Scouts and know the story behind them.
