Ok, first off I decided to buy this because my father has a cappuccino machine that cost over a thousand dollars at his house and I am impressed with how consistently it churns out amazing coffee. I wasn’t even about to drop a grand on a kitchen appliance unless it was something big like a dishwasher or stove. I began to look at different machines that I thought were comparable but far cheaper. Most machines though that were in the price range I was looking were manual (you start and stop the draw manually) and I wanted something that would allow me to simply press a button and temporarily walk away. This little machine is amazing. It was relatively easy to set up. Getting the settings the way that you want them can be kind of tricky (my dad’s has a digital display) since there is no way of seeing what you are doing and you have to rely on the little blinking buttons to tell if you did it the right way. Other than that it is pretty straightforward. Make sure you use good quality coffee and filtered water and this taste like any barista that I have ever been to. The only thing that I wish was that the frothing tube was just a little bit longer. We use this thing almost every morning now unless we are in a hurry, our regular coffee pot goes largely untouched now. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good single serving espresso machine that delivers consistently good results but doesn’t have the money to throw down on a giant expensive machine. This little thing works incredibly well.Read full review

You have to remember 2 cool it down after you use the steamer, the steamer stem, is short, so you can't use a med tall cup, and machine is lightweight enough, that it takes two hands, 2 attached the peace holding the coffee grounds.

Lots of features loaded into just a few multi-function buttons, so the manual is a necessity-that said, this is a very consistent machine with a small footprint which responds well to the right grind, so a quality stand-alone burr grinder is a must. Using store bought pre-ground coffee is an insult to this machine. DON'T DO IT! I've had my Dedica for about three years now, still running great, have replaced the original pressurized baskets, no other maintenance has been necessary (other than the periodic descaling required on most espresso machines). You can adjust length of shot pull quite easily, as well as shot temp (a bit more complicated, but doable). These variables plus an appropriate grind level will consistently deliver rich crema on your shots, once you dial everything in. I believe strongly in simple, single-function, well built machines. This machine is beautiful to look at, has a small footprint for limited kitchen deck space, and does what it's supposed to do: produce consistent, quality shots, and steam or foam milk to acceptable standards for lattes and cappucinos. I would definitely buy another at the price point.Read full review

Makes a fabulous espresso; extremely easy to use and good crema. Downside is that a double shot is only 1/4-1/3 cup (see photo). I use 2 double shots for 1 cup of coffee in the morning, and typically have 2 cups of coffee. So can be a bit inconvenient if more than 1 or 2 people want espresso. Steam wand is way too short, it can only reach the very top of a cup, so I just heat my milk in the microwave and forego the milk froth. I use a level 1/8 cup measure of grounds for the double shot and my own metal grounds compactor (see photo). My grounds compactor is a dual 43/56, where the smaller end fits perfectly.

It has a very good taste like you have in cafes. Easy to use, can make different types of espresso.
