When I first looked at this guitar I was wanting a next step for my 10 year old. At first sight I was disappointed in the size. The body is really small but it does fit him well. The arched back gives it a raspy blues tone that I like a lot. In fact I’ve played it much more than he has! It frets true and plays well. The scale is a little short so I don’t think we’ll get the mileage I was looking for. Maybe a Big Baby would have a been better choice for my needs. This little thing is fun to play though!

I bought a used 1999 Baby Taylor in about 2001, and I reach for it more often than other guitars I own. It's been everywhere from out in the wilderness of Yosemite to the front porch, though mostly it's been played while I'm sitting on the couch. After many years I switched from the Martin Marquis strings bought in bulk for use on dreadnaughts to the recommended gauge of Elixir strings, and the intonation and tone are definitely better, and they last longer too. Surprising how much sound leaps out of the tiny body. You can't thrash on it, but moderate strumming and fingerpicking are AOK. I use it mostly for songwriting and noodling around and it's a blast. Not for club gigs or open mics, but this little puppy definitely has its place. It's the only Taylor I own, but if I could justify another guitar, which I can't, it would probably be Taylor.Read full review

As expected with a small guitar, no matter the name brand, the guitar has to be retuned more often than a full size, but overall I enjoy playing it and it’s worth the small time to retune in order to have a small guitar to throw in the car and take to a bonfire. I would buy again. Worth the money, Thanks!

I LOVE the sound of Taylor Guitars, they are bright and project well without an amp. When I decided I wanted a travel guitar, I knew Taylor would make a good one. I definitely didn't expect it to sound as good as it does! I really love this little guy, I bring it to work and it's small enough to not be intrusive, but sounds great and people can hear it so they come visit when I'm playing :)

Ebay and Musician's Friend made the process easy... thanks! The Baby Taylor is in the hands of my Grandson learning the fundamentals of playing a guitar. It is right-sized for a grade schooler. It is sturdy so I'm sure it will survive grade-school band practice and friends. I put a slightly lighter gage of strings on making it is easy to play for a beginner. Wish I had a guitar like this when I was learning to play 55 years ago!
