Simply put… First I live on the fringe between two cities that transmit DTV about 68 miles each from my home. I do realize that DTV has many problems keeping sync that far away. My previous Esky antenna with built in amplifier and rotor cost me $24.99. ( I did not use the rotor I manually adjusted and left it there.)It worked very well (38 DTV stations) but I wanted to improve the signals of the stations that I already receive and maybe add a few new ones. I installed the new antenna in the same outside location, same coax etc. I even installed the recommended CM-7778 amplifier. To my surprise this new installation after adjusting the antenna did not perform any better than my previously installed antenna. And in some cases at times performed a little worse. So for the cost of the new antenna and amplifier, I’ve more or less wasted money. I did work with Channel Master and they were very helpful. I will keep the new antenna and install the larger CM-7777HD Amplifier and hopefully that will make a difference. The CM-4228HD is more than twice the size of my original antenna. Bigger is not always better!Read full review

Reception is quite adequate for the stations it receives; unfortunately it does not receive all the stations I previously received with the old antenna - and, of course, one of those stations broadcasts my favorite programs. Despite many hours fiddling with it, including adding an outside booster, the missing stations are still missing. For the record, the antenna - with rotor - is mounted atop a 20' tower on a 10' pole attached to the back of my home. Beam pattern seems very narrow which necessitates re-aiming the antenna almost every time the TV channel is changed if I want the best reception According to TVfool's charts, my favorite missing station is 28 miles from my location and is within range for good reception. With this antenna, I receive several other stations a much longer distance away - some over 40 miles. In fairness, I must say that I have purchased a couple other "'fringe" antennas since I purchased this one. They don't receive my favorite channel either. I may have to re-install my original antenna - a Channel Master.Read full review

I have tried many different antennas, this is the one, brought in all stations 100 percent. I did not know how beautiful the HD picture was until I set up this antenna. I am lucky all stations in one direction for me, this is a non directional antenna so if you need omni directional youll need a rotor,

I had a 2 bay antenna and lost HD signal on a favorite channel after a resent channel repack. This antenna combined with a pre-amp fixed my reception problems and picked up more channels. I have a mountain that interferes so I’m super happy with this antenna. I did have to extend my J pole mount to attach it.

I was trying to receive channels from Tampa Fl. in Chrystal River 75 miles away. The transmitting towers are at 165' and I am aimed right at them( 7 stations transmitting from there). I get the uhf stations at about 40-45 per the tv reception indicator and the vhf channels 8 nbc and 13 fox are too week to watch. The antenna is 15 feet high and I have a pre amp 8 feet from the antenna mounted to the mast.
