This item more than likely won't last long. I'll more than likely lose it before I give it up, or wear it out. It's inexpensive, yet puts a great edge on any knife I've run through it... from kitchen knives, hunting knives, and work knives. Large or small, your knives will be sharp enough to shave with if you use this little gizmo properly and/or often.

Very easy to hold the sharpener steady as you pull the blade through the sharpening rods. A better grip than many large table sharpeners. I do eight strokes through the carbide rods, and 20 strokes through the ceramic rods, and touch up through the ceramic rods from time to time with 10 to 20 strokes....depends on the blade design, and steel hardness.

It is fast and sharpens well. Very thin blades with thumbstuds may cause minor issues as the studs may block a part of the blade entering the sharpening area.
