Our 12 yr old Kenmore Elite d/washer was not cleaning well, & we discovered it was not heating the water, so removed the d/w from the kitchen cabinet, and the old element from the back of the unit, and confirmed it defective using a multi-tester. We found this new heating element and ordered it. It came in about 3 days (free shipping), and was easy to install. It worked immediately on reinstall & is still working well after 3 weeks. It saved about $800 over buying a new d/washer, plus all the new problems with installing a different machine! Mfgrs use different hookups for water/drain/power so the old or universal fittings don't fit!!! We still like this style better than many new ones, which have no controls on the front, and now have time to find a better machine before the old one has another problem.Read full review

This is absolutely not a good replacement for part W10134009. It is melting the inside of my dishwasher with every use. Both the bottom of the dishwasher and the silverware basket have started melting, so it isn't a matter of being set up too close to something. Only going to get worse once my silverware falls through and heats up cause its touching the super hot heating element. It heats, but it heats too well.

This is the replacement part number for my kenmore dishwasher. Old element had a course 3/8 or 10mm thread this has m12x1.5 threads. After he chastised by the wife for ordering the wrong part I took out to shed I ran drill bill through old nuts to knock tops of the threads and ran a tap through and in about 5 minutes we was up and running.

Ordered this dishwasher heating element, installed it and it still didn't work at first, but after digging on the internet found out that hard reset to the dishwasher had to be done to enable the heating element. It turns out that the dishwasher is "smart", when heating element goes bad, the dishwasher cuts the power to the heating element and when new heating element is installed, hard reset is required. Now my dishwasher works perfectly fine.
