It says medium flavor but in my single serve k cup machine I use what water the machine holds and if you read the box it states how much water should be used for a cup and matching that I get a nice flavorful cup of coffee. No bitterness. I drink my coffee black. I only buy the Columbian as it gives me the perfect taste every morning. Many K cups are expensive but I am able to find a box of 100 for $36-46 and as much as I was wasting $$ on canned coffee and tossing a lot away each morning (I am a cup or two in the morning every day) so if you are a big coffee drinker and drink coffee all day k cups could get expensive. But either way Folgers Columbian gives me a constant cup of coffee every time. It is important to follow the recommended k cup water amount per serving.
