I used it for the first time yesterday, this saw has great power and the battery lasted at least an hour . Used to branch, cut down and buck up several large Juniper trees. I can also use my other small 60 volt batteries from my other tools with it. It's light and easy to work with for long periods of time for this 62 year guy. Some of the other things I noticed I really, really like about this tool no more breathing fumes, no more mix gas and the best thing I like about this saw, no more having the crank up a gas power saw every time you set it down to move branches out of the work area.

I purchased 2 of these chainsaws and they worked like a champ..... until they both no longer work. One just stopped working and still looked brand new and the other one seems like the motor burned up (does dewalt not put overheat protection on this?) If the chainsaw had the longevity that my gas power chainsaws have I would give it 10 stars but neither of my dewalt chainsaws lasted even one season. Just in case you still want one (for light work) the battery last much longer than expected, the chainsaw will rip through large tree trunks, and overall its a fantastic saw, seriously great, when it works......

Much less hassle than my old two stroke saw. Good for the average homeowner that needs to do a winter clean up and doesn't want to fool with the maintenance needed by a two stroke chain saw. Charge lasted long enough for me to cut down a good sized pine tree.

It’s obviously not the ONLY saw a lumberjack would need, however if I were a lumberjack, I would still buy one. It has excellent cutting power. Mine threw the blade once, then I tensioned it properly and it’s great. I LOVE not having to pull start it for every cut, and I love not having to group my work to avoid pull starting. I have a Stihl 036 and Husqvarna, I don’t use them much so neither will start without a carb job. IM OVER IT!!!! I’m keeping the Dewalt and tossing my “quality” saws..

Oil pump doesn't work ... I bought this in Feb. so I didn't use it until May when it warmed up a little. By that time it is too late to get a refund or replacement, so I guess I am just stuck. I paid the higher price thinking I was getting the best (DeWalt), boy was I wrong ... I can't fix it ... can't afford $40 an hour to have the oil pump replaced! So guess I am just the big loser here. I have been looking for deals on other DeWalt items I need (Drill, Pole Saw, Saws All and Lawnmower) ... DeWalt will lose a lot of sales just from me, not counting everyone I can convince to not buy DeWalt. I found out the oil pump goes out on these quickly thru research online ... mine was out from the beginning! Warning ... be careful about buying these DeWalt Chainsaws!
