Great For My Chicken Coop Doors
I have used this remote for quite a few years now with excellent success. My application is on my chicken coops and are in the weather (covered as best I can). I have been achieving about two years service without failure out of the three remotes that I have. If used indoors I'm sure it would last for many more years. I always replace with the same unit . I am very satisfied and highly recommend this remote control device. My home is aproximately 300+ feet from my chicken coops and continue to have very good signal strength. Nice to be able to let the birds out from inside my home. I like the ability to let them out manually with this remote rather than relying on a photocell type opening/closing. Great item; but...
This is exactly what I wanted except for one thing, the limit switch functionality is for "emergency" use only. Once triggered and the output halted, the remote is inhibited. You have to manually open the switch to resume use with the remote. I had the same problem with a similar unit I bought elsewhere. If it were not for this, I would give it 5 stars. Aside from this, the device seems to be of high quality and is a bit smaller than other units. My only complaint is there is only one remote. STICKING BUTTONS
The motor controller is good quality, but the buttons on the remote sometime slip out of the hole and the controller stays on. I found that if you take the remote apart, and put super glue around the holes for the buttons, it solves the problem and no more slipping.
