This is quite a nice snow and winter and Christmas themed story for children, with a fun concept of counting also. The old man farmer in the story counts the animals in his care, the cow, the sheep, the pig, the chicken and calls them by number. There are clear plastic pages with only snow throughout the book, and children can lift the pages to find the animal underneath the blanket of snow. In the last part of the story he dresses like Santa Claus and decorates a winter tree for his animals, and there is a small button to press to play some yuletide music also. The exceptionally beautiful illustrations cannot be overstated and introduces children to collage of textures, oil paint, layers of cut paper and beautiful colors. The story is simple but engaging for small children and the artwork helps create a beautiful winter atmosphere. Reading level is ages 4-8 (32 pages)Read full review
The kids love the interaction with the snowy pages. The button with the twinkling sounds at the end it a big hit.

What a great book to read to a child while snuggling under warm covers. There are beautiful illustrations with vibrant colors (Eric Carle is famous for this). My son loved the "clear" pages of snow that you lift to reveal the hidden animal underneath. At the end there is a little button to press for pretty music. A real treat for any child.
My kids love this! Is much fun!
