There are videos which show now to remove this with a few taps of a hammer. You have to take apart the chair, but it is MUCH easier than trying to twist anything off. Also, be aware that the height adjustment lever needs to have some play in it. When I first installed mine, the chair sank slowly when I sat in it. One of the videos I found mentioned this and how to fix it.

Well, here in UK, not easy to find one. Easy to set and working at once. If problems with the pipe wrench use a wood piece to place on the handle of the tool and hit with the hammer too after spray some WD40 or similar, no need to put the chair apart to replace this part. The biggest the pipe wrench the better. Will update if any future problems with the gas cylinder.
