GREAT READ! In the top three all time Grisham books. This one has more historical details than most and as usual, Grisham captures the real "Mississippi" of the time period with amazing accuracy.

After reading Grisham's earlier works, I was excited about this new one. However, it was so bland and one-directional. Almost 1/4 of the book was a history lesson about WWII in the Pacific which seemed like it was just filler. Very predictable from the beginning with barely a plot twist. Definitely not a compelling story like his earlier works. Barely worth the read, in my opinion.

If you are a fan of this writer, I doubt you will be disappointed with this book. No spoiler alerts from me, but I would have never guessed who the person actually involved in "the incident" was.

Couldn't put it down. Read in 2 days. I was born in Mobile, Alabama so I could visualize the areas and remember the attitudes. I read all Gresham's books.
