This chipper is an absolute animal!! I’ve fed it an entire brush pile in the first few days I’ve owned it, cuts fast and leaves nice chips. A helpful tip, keep your tractor rpm up and let really green spindly material dry a while. Top link is too high for imatch quick hitch so you’ll need a bar adapter or do like me and make a drop bracket. This unit is built very heavy duty, nice welds and finish work.

No operating, parts, or assembly manuals were with the chipper. Had to go to the internet to find information. Time consuming. Poorly assembled. Parts that opened were jammed because of overlapping parts or over tightened bolts. Came with a bottle of greenish yellow substance with labels in Chinese. Don't know what it is. Other frustrations.

The drive shaft is pretty long. I kept cutting it down until it fit. Probably removed 10" total. Chips bigger limbs great but little (1/8" dia. leafy ends) stuff goes through plugging up the chute. One bolt removed and I can swing it open to clean it out though. I don't feed little stuff into it anymore. Feeds limbs really well. I have a 27hp tractor and never have a power shortage. It grabs the biggest limbs and tops it can take and sucks them right in to the end. It is way more useful than I expected. Now that I can clean up brushy messes and have chips I am doing a lot more with it than I had planned. I really like having wood chips and they are becoming very useful, especially in all this mud we have, in chicken pens, horse stables, walking areas, ground covering, etc. I had hoped to use them for heating too but so far I need all the chips I can get for other things. A great tool. One of my more valuable tractor attachments right now. Shipped right away and a good company to deal with.Read full review

Some things that could be improved . It does not like soft material like new branches - I've been working with mostly pine and the ends of the branches will plug it up unless I push something with more substance in at the same time. Plugging is not too big of a deal - There is only one bolt that you need to take off. I replaced that bolt with a pin and cotter key on a chain - easy to open and you don't loose them. The unit has chewed through everything I've thrown in - still have not snapped a shear pin. This was definitely worth the money.

I purchased the BX-42 not knowing what to expect, turned out it was a good investment. It was packed well and easy to set up and get running. I broke the sheer pin one time testing it's ability. This is a safety feature and I have no problem with the pin sheering, just bought a few to have on hand.....good product....
